Max's 1st Birthday Party

Max had his 1st Birthday Party at Grandma's on Mother's Day. He loved the cake and the presents. I tried to make a video, but messed it up. These pictures came out great though. He doesn't take a bad picture.

He took my spoon from me. I guess he just wasn't getting the cake fast enough with his hands. What a handsome boy! Even under all that frosting!!! ;0)

Thank you for all the awesome presents. He of course didn't know what all the fuss was about, but enjoyed every minute of it.

Max's First Birthday

Max turned 1 yesterday. Can you even believe it?! It all goes by so fast!!! We picked his cousin Sam up from School so she could help pick out his present with Aunt Errinne and I. He loves Finding Nemo and as you can see, he totally loves this thing!!! So cute! I just loved seeing his first reactions to it. He even started jabbering away to Nemo. I wonder what he was saying.

We didn't do the Birthday cake today because his party is on Mothers Day. Yep, there's a drawback to being born so close to Mothers Day. I think it's pretty wonderful though. I got my first baby for Mothers Day. That's pretty awesome!!!

Instead of cake, Max got his first McDonald's Happy Meal. Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Hatch. He didn't care too much for the chicken nuggets, but he loved the fries and toy.

Thank you for all the Birthday wishes and gifts. Max had a fun and eventful day. I'll post pictures next week of the 'Cake Attack' that will happen on Sunday.

We love you so much Max! You make our lives so much sweeter!!!

Mothers

You might have read this before because it's from a chain email. I wanted to share it because it made me smile when my sweet husband forwarded it to me and I hope it does the same for you!

Happy Mothers Day to all of you
wonderful Mom's out there!!!

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
they don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
are probably in the sand box.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough
doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what
the vacuum just sucked up...

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
and get their answer when a little
voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth
is not measured by height or years or grade...
It's marked by the progression of Mommy to
Mom to Mother...

The Images of Mother

4 Years of Age - My Mommy can do anything!

8 Years of Age - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 Years of Age - My Mother doesn't know everything!

14 Years of Age - My Mother? She wouldn't have a clue.

16 Years of Age - Mother? She's so five minutes ago.

18 Years of Age - That old woman? She's way out of date!

25 Years of Age - Well, she might know a little bit about it!

35 Years of Age - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.

45 Years of Age - Wonder what Mom would have
thought about it.

65 Years of Age - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not int he clothes she wears,
the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes,
because that is the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

It is caring that she lovingly gives,
the passion that she shows, and the beauty
of a woman with passing years only grows.

Happy Thought

I was relaxing on the couch today clipping coupons after my quick shopping trip with my lovely Mom and Max when I heard an awesomely wonderful sound. It was my sweet baby boy talking and singing while he played. He was playing with boxes of toothpaste and bottles of protein water by the windows where he can watch cars and people walk by. What a happy site and he's ours. Then I got this feeling in my belly. Almost like butterflies in my stomach and I remembered that we get to have another one. I've been worrying about having this sweet second baby so soon for all kinds of silly reasons. Like: All the sleep I'm not going to get, or having two cribs up at once, here's a good one... having a beast for a truck that's too tall for me to heft our 2 babies in and out of for daily stuff. Don't get my wrong. I love my truck and I know that I can handle whatever is handed to me, especially another breathtaking blessing of a baby. I'm a blubbering prego chick. I know I sound mushy and all that and I'm proud of it. I just needed to share with whomever is out there reading this, that I do know that I'm blessed. I feel loved beyond anything I could have imagined. I'm so tired and it's OK. What a wonderful job. I love coming to work every morning, day and night!!! I love being a Mommy!!!

Play Time At The Park

It was hard to resist going to the park today. We brought our Annie-Bell so she could play fetch. Unfortunately our other pup Mag isn't interested in returning once let off his leash so he stayed home today.

Annie was very tired in this picture as you can see. It looks as if Max was able to put her in a head-lock. You gotta show these dogs who's boss you know!

Oh, I see you're just sharing Dad's pencil. Way to share Max. Good boy!!!

Showing off his all terrain wheels. Gotta have a Jeep!

We had a wonderful time. We were spinning a little here. I didn't get too dizzy. Thank goodness!

I have to tell you though, Max performed his first magic act today. We were amazed. Wes gave Max one of his pens to play with. When we were about ready to go we were looking all over the place. It wasn't an expensive pen. We were just curious as to what happened. I was walking all over the park thinking Annie had picked it up while playing fetch. Then we decided that it would just have to remain a mystery. About a second later, we found it in his shirt. Max had placed it there while Daddy held him. HE'S GOOD!!! So smart. We're very proud of our magic man.

In case you haven't heard...

My 8wk appt was today. I got to see our little jelly bean for the first time. Sooo exciting. Our due date is 10.09.10, but we're trying for 10.10.10. Baby #2 (as we're calling it now) is right on track. Just the size it's supposed to be and all that. Sorry I missed February entirely. I found out that we were pregnant on the 13th of Feb and have felt totally sick. Thanks for all your prayers and support. We feel so blessed to be able to have our 2nd baby on the way.

(I wish you could see the heartbeat! Sooo cute!!!)
