Pictures with Sam, Tyler & Brandon at the Rhododendron Garden

Backtracking to this last Saturday...

I know this posting is titled Pictures with Sam, Tyler & Brandon at the yadda, yadda, yadda, but I'm kind of fond of this little man. This is how our day began. Looking at this ridiculously cute boy laying across our bed. His head touching Dad's side and feet touching Mom's side. He just loves to kick me and I hope it stays that way to be honest.
Later on we went to pick up the three hoodlums seen below for pictures. We have a primary assignment to turn in pictures of our kidlets enjoying Heavenly Fathers creations, so we had a little fun with it. Even though it was rainy and cold, they totally had fun. Wes sat in the car with Max because he was fast asleep, while I brought the kids in for pictures. Tyler was all smiles. They're all so cute. I'm glad we went.

First Family Bike Ride With Max

We had a fun family day together. We started with plans to clean and to move a couple rooms around. Then we came to our senses. We decided instead to go shopping for bike helmets. Max got a cool camo one with trucks and I got a black one. Now there's nothing stopping us from our bike rides. Well... rain would stop me, but you know what I mean. When we got home we all rode over to Grandma & Grandpa's house to play. Then before we went home we stopped off at Uncle Reid's. What an awesome day with family. We all really enjoyed ourselves.

My Birthday Dinner at Cheesecake Factory

Wes had the day off today because he worked all Sunday night. It was wonderful. He had to sleep in, so Max and I woke him up at about noon by getting in bed, saying good morning and going back to sleep with him. Once our nap was done, we went downstairs to watch the first season of Glee. We're totally hooked. At about 4:00pm we went to pick Sam up so she could come to dinner with us. Wes asked me if he could run to the store while I helped Sam get dolled up. It almost being my Birthday encouraged this, because it was likely that he was going to get me a present. I'm smart sometimes. Anyhoo... We got to Cheesecake Factory before the dinner rush, so no problem parking, we got to sit in a booth and the food came fast. Our waiter even brought Max some bananas to snack on without us asking. I just love stuff like that. He totally got a good tip for that!

This is what we did after dinner while we were waiting for our dessert. Sam was making Max crack up. Sooo cute!!!

Wes is trying to attack Sam with his fork for some reason... but he doesn't really need a reason because he's crazy!

Poor Max didn't get ice cream or cheesecake this time. I just love this picture!

Not an easy picture to take. I should have taken the group picture before dinner. Everyone was fat, happy and totally ready to be at home relaxing. We had a wonderful time!!!

This is what I saw when I walked into our living room when we got home. Wesley surprised me with a new bike. I've never had such a wonderful bike. It's a Trek 7100 with a baby seat, a basket and a bell that says 'I love my bike'. I don't know what that rates in the bike world, but I did a test ride a couple of weeks ago just for fun (or so I thought) and this was the bike for me. Max and I'll take our first ride once I buy a couple helmets for us. I'm soooo excited. What an awesome gift. He totally surprised me. I love my man!!!

I've had a very wonderful Birthday. Thank you everyone!!!

My Pre-Birthday Family Dinner

It's a tradition to have my Birthday party with a bunch of my nieces and nephews. But this year it was a small party at my parents house with Sam, Brandon and Tyler. Tyler isn't pictured but he did sing Happy Birthday to me. It was awesome! Mom and Shaun made roast, carrots, corn and mashed ranch potatoes with gravy. Not sure how that sounds to everyone else, but to me DELICOUS!!! I made a simple lemon cake with rasberry filling. Tyler stole the balloons off the top before we got to the cake but he let us borrow them for the blowing out of the candles. We watched the movie 'Up' afterward. I had a lot of fun tonight. Thanks for the fun party!

This is what Max was doing while we watched the movie. In this picture he's under the computer desk. He loves to climb now. Yikes!

Peek-a-boo! Don't you just love that little face?!

Max Discovers Dog Food

Max is so mobile now. I was in the kitchen cooking while Daddy was supposed to be watching our boy. I say supposed to be because of the following pictures. I think his excuse was that Max entered the kitchen area, so it was my turn to watch him. I looked over to see this gorgeous little man doing this...

The dog food never made it into his mouth. Oh, but the memories of this. I was laughing so hard! Way to keep us on our toes little man! Oh and if you look behind him in this last pic you'll see our Annie-Bell holding a cottage cheese container she was finishing off. Things are a little backwards here. How funny!

Crazy way to start the day.

My sweet handsome little boy didn't have a good night Wednesday night. He woke up screaming at about 2 and 4 am. I'm not sure if it was just from pain or if he also had a bad dream. The fact that he's 8 months old and can't tell me makes this such a fun guessing game. No matter the cause, I get to stay up and make sure he's taken care of. Thankfully all he really needed was me and a little teething tablet. He stayed in bed with Wes and I for the rest of the night so that we could all get a little rest.

Wes got up early to head off to work while Max and I stretched out on the bed to sleep a little while longer. When I finally woke up again I realized I was running late for my date with my sisters and Mom. I ran downstairs and let the dogs out back to do their business while I got ready to go, when the door bell rang. I looked through the peep hole to see who it might be because I wasn't expecting anyone. It was a guy in an orange raincoat with a handcart holding a bunch of boxes. I threw some clothes on so that I could see what he needed, but before I got to the door he was gone. I then heard a big thud on the side of my house and my dogs barking. I was a little shocked. I thought, 'That man just jumped my 6' locked fence.' Then I thought, 'No, that's silly! What idiot would do that with a pit in the back yard?!' Well evidently the idiot did exactly that. I went to let my dogs back in and there was the man standing 3 ft in front of me. I was totally freaked out! The dogs came in as he apologized for startling me and telling me that he was with PGE. I didn't listen for long. I closed the door as fast as I could, while my dogs continued to freak out. All of this was happening while my sweet little sick baby was alone upstairs sleeping. I ran upstairs, called my husband and got my boy ready. Wes told me to call PGE to complain, so I made sure the guy was gone and headed to my Mom's house. I didn't feel very safe at my house for some reason. It could have been the fact that some stranger decided to 'JUMP MY 6' FENCE WITH MY PIT INSIDE'. Sorry. I'm obviously still a little angry and freaked out. My pit wasn't the one he needed to worry about though. Our jack russell Annie was about to lay down the law before I opened the back door.

When I got to my parents house I started to tell my family what happened when I started to cry. I guess I hadn't realized how upset I really was. I didn't want to be dramatic, but I was scared. Anyhoo... I called PGE and they told me that he was actually with a company that was switching out the meters for PGE and that I should call them. They also confirmed that our account was noted that they were supposed to set up an appointment prior to coming to my house because of our fence. I then called the other company and while I waited for a call back I call the Portland Police non-emergency line to ask them what I should do. She told me that I should call both companies and rip them a new one. She also told me that if anything like that happens again, to not feel stupid, just call 911. I totally appreciated that!!! When the other company called me back, they apologized and told me to make my complaint through PGE and that PGE would pass it on to them, yadda, yadda, yadda... End of the story is that the guy totally broke PGE's rules of conduct along with the company he works for and along with my freakin rules. Duh!!! Don't jump a 6' locked fence dummy! I'd like to think that his supervisor is going to take care of this so that he won't do it to anyone else in the future, but what can you do. I did what I could. Does it make me feel any safer, no! But I sure do love my family and the people that were so helpful on the phone today.

I have to emphasize how proud I am of my dogs. Mostly Annie because she was so vicious, but Mag did jump up on the guy a couple times. Even though it was to get him to play with him.

Once Wes got home from work, Max and I headed home. We had a wonderful night watching TV, watching Max and playing on the floor together. This is how the night ended. Max in his jumper posing for a picture while asleep. Very sweet. I really do feel truly blessed!
